Crazy in Love

Author: K. J. Adams

You have got to read this!!!!!
This is one of the best book I have ever read. It's about this girl(who is like one of those independent, feisty red-hair heroine you read in historic romance novels)that have dated the star quarterback and broke his ankle on a make-out island. She met Peter who is one of those nerdy(but really cute) boy who is destined to go to Yale and they totally clash, but Peter convinced her to be his date to a party to keep him out of the clutches of two evil sisters that have major crusheson him. And from there the story goes on. Please read it, it's one of the funniest, romantic novel you will ever read.

Crossroads: The Experience Music Project Collection
Published in Hardcover by Experience Music Project (15 August, 2000)
Authors: Peter Blecha, Adam Woog, Peter Blecha, and Billy Vera
Average review score:

From Sock Hop to Hip Hop
This book is a very well crafted historical review of popular music frequently referred to as Rock and Roll. From its early roots to its latest manifestations, this book covers the gamut. As such it is a companion piece to the Experience Music Project Museum in Seattle, and if you can't get to Seattle, this book would at least give you a flavor of what awaits you there. Well written, with beautiful art and photos from electric music roots in 1935 through today. It succeeds in connecting the lineage in words and pictures. Highly recommended.

Cry Flip

Follow Chip from one adventure to another
Easy reading. The characters are well developed and the descriptions were so detailed, you'll swear you can smell the aroma of strong cajun coffee perking. The hilarious interaction between the Federal Government, The Louisiana State Government, the Cajuns and the New Orleanians. The wheeling and dealing and looking the other way. I felt like I was following "Chip" and on several occasions I was afraid he would end up as "white bones in the reeds". An armchair trip to cajun country.

Current Issues and Enduring Questions: A Guide to Critical Thinking and Argument With Readings
Published in Paperback by Bedford/St. Martin's (July, 2001)
Authors: Sylvan Barnet and Hugo Adam Bedau
Average review score:

An excellent reference text for readings on contempory issue
The book is in two parts: the first lays down the elements of citical thinking and the art of dissecting an argument, and the second is an excellent selection of readings which offer both pro and con views on a wide variety of social and moral subjects.

I find myself continually referring to the second section of the book, because the readings selected are compelling, and very well written. They include modern writers, as well as the best writings of past authors who explore contemporary issues of their day. That they continue to be "hot" issues today speaks to the continuing struggle we have with certain kinds of issues.

After each pair of readings the authors have offered a series of questions for further thought, which can be used for independent analysis of the reading, or as part of a course in critical thinking. I found these questions very helpful in stimulating discussion with others, especially those with strong feelings in the subject areas.

This book has become a "must read" in my circle of critically thinking frinds.

Great reference for my gross anatomy class
I liked this book because it make anatomy much easier to retain because of the detailed pictures showing the structures of the body. I'm a visual learner and found this book to be very good in showing me the difference in location between various ligaments and bones etc. I also used the following which is also available on amazon:
Spinal Anatomy Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers
isbn: 0971999600
This study guide helped me with the type of questions encountered in on my medical gross anatomy tests in med school. I highly recommend both books

A.D.A.M.(R) Interactive Physiology CD: Cardiovascular System
Published in CD-ROM by Benjamin/Cummings (15 March, 1995)
Author: Adam
Average review score:

Save Time & Effort by Having a Look at CD
A wonderful CD! It has helped so much in the Cardiovascular part of my physiology course and saved my time and effort. After taking the whole trip in the CD, I find my self turning the pages very fast and with less need to concentrate in the characteristics and the sequence of events discussed.I think that is because the cardiovascular physiology textbooks tend to describe wordily the whole picture of an event and try to coordinate these events and their characteristics with each other in relation to time and that takes hips of pages (meaning more time to read, concentrate and imagine).Nevertheless,as the proverb says a picture worth thousands of words, it also applies here but in this way : An animation worth shelves of physiology books. The animation and the interactive pictures in the CD will give an idea about the event, its characteristics and the sequence in a minute-look. Furthermore, with the aid of a good physiology textbook the life will be made very easy in your physiology course .However,do not expect from the CD more than the basic concepts of the cardiovascular physiology, it is not a textbook but a review that will help very much and I recommend it strongly for you (Med-Students,nurses,carious people).
